Bandipora’s Wular Lake in North Kashmir has witnessed the return of lotus flowers after nearly 25 years, leading to the revival of Nadru (lotus stem). It contributes to the livelihood generation for people in villages surrounding the lake. Approximately 30 villages are dependent on Wular Lake for their livelihood. They attributed the return of lotus growth to de-silting and cleaning operations undertaken by Wular Conservation Authority.
