We are Aatmanirbhar in agricultural production: HM Amit Shah
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on November 08 addressed the National Symposium on Promoting Organic Products through Cooperatives which was organised by National Cooperative Organics Limited. He said that India is a self-dependent country in agricultural production. He also pointed out the weaknesses of the agricultural industry such as excessive use of fertilisers and pesticides. "It’s a matter of satisfaction for all Indians that we are Aatmanirbhar in agricultural production...Some mistakes have also been made in the journey to produce surplus...We have to identify the weaknesses. To increase production, excessive usage of fertiliser and pesticides has given bad results for our future...It reduced land fertility, polluted land and water," said Amit Shah.
