"Since the beginning of the year 2026 geopolitical events are dominating the global news. Some of these events may have serious impact on the markets, but the markets have not not been impacted significantly. President Trump’s order imposing 25 % tariffs on countries trading with Iran is unlikely to impact India significantly since India-Iran trade is small at around $ 1.6 billion. China will be impacted hugely. How the Iranian crisis will unfold and how the U.S. reacts to the developments in Iran remain to be seen. The use of tariffs as a weapon by Trump means the world is likely to suffer from a tariff-ridden trade system for sometime. 

Stock investment can be frustrating at times; it can disappoint for long. What smart investors should do in uncertain volatile times like now is to remain invested and continue investing in fairly-valued quality growth stocks for the long-term."
