Uno Minda gains as its Board greenlights Rs 1,415 crore expansion plan across key verticals

UNO Minda is currently trading at Rs. 1163.80, up by 2.30 points or 0.20% from its previous closing of Rs. 1161.50 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1162.15 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1184.20 and Rs. 1,161.65 respectively. So far 2139 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1381.95 on 07-Oct-2025 and a 52 week low of Rs. 994.00 on 16-Mar-2026.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1238.60 and Rs. 1161.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 68042.96 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 68.36 % while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 25.68 % and 5.96 % respectively.

Uno Minda’s Board has approved a series of strategic capacity expansion and plant consolidation projects across its key business verticals to strengthen its manufacturing footprint, boost capacities across key divisions, and cater to surging demand from leading Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs). The combined proposed investment is around Rs 1,415 crore in verticals such as Two-Wheeler Alloy Wheels, Aluminium Casting, Moulding, & Interior, Exterior Parts, and Sealing Systems .

The Board has approved establishment of a new greenfield facility at Hosur, Tamil Nadu, under the capacity expansion project of Casting Division, LPS Domain. The product range at the new facility will include engine applications, EV/Powertrain applications, structural applications, general applications and HPDC 2-wheels alloy wheels. The estimated incremental capital expenditure for this facility is around Rs 510 crore. The existing operations of Casting division at Hosur, Tamil Nadu are to be consolidated and be relocated to the new facility by Q1 FY29. The Board has also approved the setting up of two wheeler Alloy Wheel plant with annual capacity of 3.3 million-unit at Kharkhoda, Haryana. This initiative includes the strategic relocation of 2.0 million units of existing capacity from Supa, Maharashtra, to the Kharkhoda plant. The estimated additional capital expenditure for the plant is around Rs 155 crore. The capacity is to be implemented in a phased manner over the next two years, with Phase 1 expected to commence production by Q4 FY28. 

Additionally, the board has approved the capital expenditure of around Rs 670.00 crore for setting up facility at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra under Toyoda Gosei South India, subsidiary of Toyoda Gosei Uno Minda India, an associate of the company. The facility will manufacture interior and exterior automotive products, airbags, hoses and body sealing parts. The capacity is to be implemented in a phased manner with Start of Production (SOP) scheduled for Q4 FY29. Besides, the board has approved expansion of capacity of the Bengaluru plant of Uno Minda Kyoraku, a subsidiary of the company. The project involves a total estimated capital expenditure of around Rs 80.00 crore. The capacity is expected to commence operation by Q1 FY28.
