Tata Motors gains on acquiring 18% equity stake in Freight Tiger

Tata Motors is currently trading at Rs. 380.50, up by 2.35 points or 0.62% from its previous closing of Rs. 378.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 373.40 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 383.80 and Rs. 365.90 respectively. So far 886594 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 508.95 on 27-Feb-2026 and a 52 week low of Rs. 306.00 on 14-Nov-2025.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 449.95 and Rs. 365.90 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 139247.36 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 42.56%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 36.92% and 20.52% respectively.

Tata Motors has entered into an agreement and acquired around 18% equity stake in Freight Commerce Solutions (Freight Tiger) through secondary purchase from existing shareholders for an aggregate consideration of around Rs 95.66 crore on May 15, 2026.

With this acquisition, the company’s connected vehicle platform, ‘Fleet Edge’ together with ‘Freight Tiger’ aspire to forge a comprehensive end-to-end digital ecosystem for the entire logistics value chain, covering both the truck and the trip ecosystem.

Following the completion of the acquisition, the company will hold upto 63.6% stake (Based on conversion price of instruments held by the company, the final shareholding can vary between around 60-63.6%) in Freight Tiger, on a fully diluted basis, which will subsequently operate as a subsidiary of the company.
