Madurai district has been witnessing a sharp rise in summer temperatures, with the intense heat affecting not only people but also animals. In response, special measures are being taken to ensure the well-being of animals, particularly those housed within temple premises. Sundaravalli, beloved elephant of Alagar Temple, has been receiving care during this summer. Elephant’s health and comfort have been closely monitored by its mahout under the supervision of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department.
