Skyview by Empyrean is Making Benchmarks in the Indian Ropeway Industry
FIL Industries Private Limited, the parent company of Empyrean Skyview Projects that pioneered ropeway mobility solutions in India with Jammu’s Skyview Gondola, is currently developing the Dehradun-Mussoorie ropeway and is on track to complete Phase I by September 2026.
The ropeway is set to be India’s longest passenger aerial monocable covering 5.8 km between the foothills of Dehradun in Purkulgam and MDDA taxi stand in the hills of Mussoorie in just under 20 minutes.
The firm pioneered green mobility solutions in India with the development of the flagship Skyview Gondola in Jammu connecting Sanget Valley to Patnitop. FIL Industries Private Limited has also secured the 3.8 km Yamunotri aerial ropeway project which will connect Yamunotri with Kharsali in Uttarakhand.

The brand collaborates with top global players like POMA, E.R.I.C Ropeways, MND Group, Sage Geotech Inc., and Dianeige Mountain Design to ensure cutting-edge technology and adherence to international standards in infrastructure development- setting a benchmark for lifestyle and adventure destinations in India. Skyview by Empyrean is the largest Indo-French Mountain tourism project, featuring 18 cabins, each with a capacity of accommodating 8 adults. During the construction of the project, no trees were cut, and over 8000 saplings were planted in the adjacent area.
Skyview by Empyrean upholds the highest safety standards through a combination of advanced technology, international certifications, and a team of certified engineers who have undergone rigorous training to perform efficiently and in accordance with international industry standards. For operations and maintenance, they use specialized tools from France that adhere to CEN standards ensuring safe and compliant maintenance practices. Over 200 daily pre-start checks ensure 100% compliance, while all towers are inspected before commercial operations, with zero missed inspections. Annual third-party certifications validate ongoing safety, and with 0% unplanned maintenance breakdowns, the ropeway achieves 364 days of uninterrupted operations annually. Preventive maintenance is rigorously followed across weekly to annual intervals, ensuring optimal system performance and reliability.
Monthly rescue drills are conducted in collaboration with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to ensure constant preparedness for manual evacuation scenarios. These drills are led by rescuers certified under the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), who have been trained by Gamesystem France, a global leader in evacuation solutions. In addition to conducting the drills, certified trainers also provide hands-on training to NDRF personnel in equipment handling and evacuation procedures, reinforcing operational readiness and safety.
Recently, Skyview by Empyrean, the 22-acre mountain harbour established in Jammu, also won the FICCI Excellence Award for Maintenance Systems for its adherence to global safety standards and innovative practices. The company is also certified as India’s first Sustainable Tourism Destination by the Responsible Tourism Society of India (RTSOI).
The Indian ropeway sector is undergoing a monumental shift with the announcement of the Parvatmala Pariyojana, by the Government of India, aimed at enhancing last-mile connectivity in remote and hilly regions.
