SJVN gains on releasing Rs 269.97 crore as land compensation for Etalin Hydro Electric Project in Dibang Valley

SJVN is currently trading at Rs. 91.80, up by 1.76 points or 1.95% from its previous closing of Rs. 90.04 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 91.90 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 92.49 and Rs. 91.23 respectively. So far 119406 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 159.60 on 26-Jul-2024 and a 52 week low of Rs. 80.50 on 03-Mar-2025.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 96.14 and Rs. 83.09 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 35969.42 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 81.85%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 6.69% and 11.47% respectively.

In a significant step towards accelerating hydro power development in Arunachal Pradesh, SJVN has released Rs 269.97 crore as land compensation for 3097 MW Etalin Hydro Electric Project in Dibang Valley. The project aims to construct two dams on Dri River and on Talo (Tangon) River along with an underground powerhouse complex. The project is scheduled for commissioning in December 2033. The release of this compensation amount is a major step in honouring the rights of local communities while ensuring the infrastructural growth of the nation. 

A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) was signed between SJVN and Arunachal Pradesh government in August 2023 for this project along with four other hydro projects in the state, with a total capacity of 5,097 MW. These projects are located in Dibang Valley district and will infuse in a combined investment of approximately Rs 60,000 crore. 

SJVN’s principal business activity is electricity generation. The company is also engaged in the business of providing consultancy.
