Shri Pramod Rao, Executive Director, SEBI, Inaugurates New Office of Indian REITs Association and Bharat InvITs Association

The Indian REITs Association (IRA) and the Bharat InvITs Association (BIA) have announced today the inauguration of their new joint office premises (in New Cuffe Parade). The new office was officially inaugurated by Shri Pramod Rao, Executive Director of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
The new office is intended to serve as a collaborative hub to promote the growth, transparency, and operational efficiency of REITs and InvITs in India. The inauguration ceremony was attended by key stakeholders from SEBI, Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) and Infrastructure Investment Trusts (InvITs) sectors.
Speaking at the event, Shri Pramod Rao, Executive Director, SEBI, said, “The setting up of a dedicated joint office for IRA and BIA is a timely and welcome development. As REITs and InvITs continue to evolve as key investment instruments for investors in India, the presence of strong industry associations in the form of IRA & BIA, will play a pivotal role in driving investor awareness, building investor confidence, adopting & evolving industry standards and facilitating meaningful dialogue between stakeholders and regulators.”
Mr Alok Aggarwal, MD & CEO of Brookfield India Real Estate Trust and Chairman of the Indian REITs Association, added, “The opening to our new office is a significant step in strengthening the institutional framework for REITs in India. It reflects our commitment to driving industry dialogue, enhancing transparency, and shaping a progressive regulatory environment. As a joint space with the InvITs Association, we envision it as a hub for collaboration and strategic engagement — helping unlock the full potential of India’s REIT market.”

The new premises will enable IRA and BIA to further expand their efforts in advocacy, education, and research, with a focus on industry best practices, policy dialogue, and investor engagement.
