USDINR

Observation

USDINR trading range for the day is 96.08-96.62.

Rupee closed nearly unchanged after hitting a two-month low earlier in the session as crude oil prices continued to dictate the currency's momentum.

Markets now see nearly a 70% probability of another Fed rate increase in October, up sharply from less than 20% a month earlier.

The breach of 96 could prompt the RBI to step up intervention, with the central bank having greater capacity to intervene following the recent buildup in foreign exchange reserves.

Euro dropped amid a stronger dollar as investors weighed comments from ECB President Christine Lagarde.

Euro zone inflation remains on the 'middle' path that requires only measured interest rate hikes from the ECB.
