Rupee trades flat against US dollar on Friday

The Indian rupee was trading flat against the US dollar on Friday, tracking weak domestic indices amid foreign fund outflows, weak US markets and tariff threats. Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) offloaded equities worth Rs 3,311.55 crore on net basis on Thursday, exchange data showed. Moreover, firm American currency added pressure on the Indian rupee. Meanwhile, overall weakness in crude oil prices and RBI intervention have cushioned sharp downside in rupee.

The partially convertible currency is currently trading flat at its previous close of 86.64 on Thursday. The currency touched a high and low of 86.6850 and 86.50 respectively.
