Rupee strengthens against US dollar on Thursday
Indian rupee strengthened against the US dollar on Thursday amid easing crude oil prices, while weakness in American currency at overseas markets after dovish hints from the US Federal Reserve officials also supporting rupee sentiments. However, subdued domestic equities and foreign funds outflows following continued tensions in middle east limited further gains in rupee. Foreign Institutional Investors were net sellers in the capital market on Wednesday as they offloaded shares worth Rs 421.77 crore, exchange data showed.

The partially convertible currency is currently trading at 83.16, stronger by 2 paise from its previous close of 83.18 on Wednesday. The currency touched a high and low of 83.1725 and 83.1275 respectively.
