The appointment of Shri Tuhin Kanta Pandey, who is an IAS officer of the 1987 batch from Odisha cadre, as the 11th SEBI Chairman for a term of three years is greatly welcome. With an MA degree in Economics from Punjab University, Chandigarh, an MBA from the UK, and extensive experience in both the Government of Odisha and the Government of India, Shri Pandey is eminently well-suited for the position of SEBI Chairman. His wide and diversified work as the Finance Secretary and Revenue Secretary placed him in good stead to take SEBI to greater heights.
