Below the Quote on Sensex 28th April 2026 by Hitesh Tailor, Technical Research Analyst at Choice Equity Broking Private Limited
On 28th April 2026, the BSE Sensex closed at 76,886.91, declining by 416.72 points (-0.54%), as markets witnessed mild weakness amid cautious global cues and intermittent profit booking. The index opened gap down by around 208 points and initially showed some recovery in the first half, indicating early buying interest. However, selling pressure emerged in the latter half of the session, dragging the index lower to an intraday low of 76,741.06, before settling near 76,886.91. Sectoral performance remained mixed, where Energy, Oil & Gas, Metal, and Telecom showed relative resilience, while Financial Services, Private Banks, IT, and Auto faced selling pressure, indicating lack of broad-based strength.
From a technical perspective, the index is currently trading in a consolidation phase after recent volatility, reflecting indecisiveness among market participants. Immediate support is placed in the 76,300–76,400 zone, which may act as a key demand area on declines. On the upside, resistance is seen around 77,300–77,500, where supply pressure is likely to emerge and may cap further upside.
The near-term outlook remains cautious with a slight negative bias, as intermittent selling pressure continues to persist. While selective buying is visible, ongoing geopolitical uncertainties and global market cues may keep volatility elevated, limiting sharp directional moves in the short term.
