Benchmark indices Nifty and Sensex are expected to open lower amid mixed global cues. Asian markets are weak, and US markets ended mixed, with Nasdaq and S&P at record highs. Gift Nifty is down 0.36% at 24,997. Sentiment remains cautious due to weak earnings and margin pressure in IT and FMCG stocks.

Nifty is stuck in a tight range of 24,900–25,300 with no clear direction, facing strong resistance at 25,200–25,300. RSI below 50 signals weak momentum. The 20- and 50-day EMAs at 25,150 and 24,950 mark the consolidation zone. Unless Nifty breaks above 25,300, a cautious approach with a sell-on-rise strategy is ideal.

Bank Nifty stayed range-bound between 56,600 and 57,350, with strong resistance near 57,300 limiting gains. Despite a late recovery, there was no follow-through, showing bearish pressure. Support lies at 56,600 and the 20-day EMA at 56,800. RSI below 50 signals weak momentum. Unless it breaks above 57,350, a sell-on-rise strategy is preferred.

The Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) extended their selling on the fourth day as they sold equities worth Rs 2133 crore on July 24 . However, Domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought equities worth Rs 2617 crore on the same day.

Nifty 50 formed a Bearish Engulfing pattern with high volumes, slipping below the 10- and 20-day EMAs. It's been trading in the lower Bollinger Band for 10 sessions. While the RSI remains weak, Stochastic RSI is positive, and MACD is improving. Overall, the setup looks mixed, with a chance of continued consolidation unless strong buying emerges.
