Justice Sanjiv Khanna. Swearing in today is a proud and a poetic moment for the justice in India As a law student when we were studying law, we, uh, were also taught about the chapter about emergency and the amendments that were carried out at that time. And we were also, uh, our professor also spoke about the famous AD M jabalpur case in which, uh, justice HR Khanna Uh, the late Justice HR Khanna, who is the Uncle of Justice Sanjeev Khanna. He was the lone and a decent voice who gave the judgement against the, uh in the AD M dabur case. But the consequences of dissent was very harsh And Justice Khanna was denied uh his appointment as the chief Justice of India. So today, uh uh I mean, uh, the appointment of justice uh, Sanjeev Khanna and his wedding in today is as I mentioned, it's a proud moment. Justice Sandip Khanna is a distinguished uh uh jurist. But we also remember what happened to his, uh, late uncle Justice HR Khanna, who was the lone voice against the defence. And, uh, we also saw how Constitution was shred when he was denied his appointment as the chief justice of India. So I think it's a, uh it's a poetic moment for the justice. And, uh, it's a very happy moment for all the lawyers. And, uh uh, people who have been in the, uh, legal fraternity, uh, they would see this appointment as a very welcome move while remembering late justice HR
