Power Grid Corporation rises on acquiring Bidar Transco

Power Grid Corporation is currently trading at Rs. 267.85, up by 1.10 points or 0.41% from its previous closing of Rs. 266.75 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 265.10 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 268.50 and Rs. 262.85 respectively. So far 110012 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 366.20 on 25-Sep-2024 and a 52 week low of Rs. 252.10 on 17-Feb-2025.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 268.50 and Rs. 252.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 248047.10 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 51.34%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 45.13% and 3.53% respectively.

Power Grid Corporation of India, pursuant to its selection as the successful bidder under Tariff based competitive bidding, has acquired Bidar Transco, the Project SPV to establish Augmentation of transformation capacity by 3x500 MVA, 400/220kV ICTs (6th - 8th) and 1x1500 MVA,765/400kV ICT (4th) at Bidar PS, on build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) basis from the Bid Process Coordinator – REC Power Development and Consultancy (RECPDCL). The project comprises augmentation works at under-construction sub-station in the State of Karnataka. 

Bidar Transco has been acquired for an aggregate value of about Rs 6.52 crore including 50,000 equity shares at par at Rs 10 each along with assets and liabilities of Bidar Transco as on the acquisition Date of February 18, 2025. However, the acquisition price is subject to adjustment as per the audited accounts of Bidar Transco as on the acquisition date.
