Mirae Asset MF launches BSE Information Technology Index Fund, offering investors broad-based access to India's IT sector
Mirae Asset Investment Managers (India) Pvt. Ltd. announces launch of the Mirae Asset BSE Information Technology Index Fund, (An open-ended scheme replicating/tracking the BSE Information Technology Total Return Index). The fund gives investors passive, rules-based access to India's technology sector through a single index-tracking product, spanning IT services, software products, IT-enabled services, and hardware companies. The New Fund Offer (NFO) for the fund opens on September 8, 2026, and closes on September 22, 2026, with the scheme re-opening for continuous sale and repurchase on September 28, 2026. "India’s IT sector has been tested by through multiple technology cycle, from the dot-com crash to COVID-19, and each time the industry has adapted and emerged stronger. We believe artificial intelligence (AI) marks a similar transition rather than a disruption to the fundamental value Indian IT companies provide,” said Siddharth Srivastava, Head - ETF Products and Fund Manager, Mirae Asset Investment Managers (India) Pvt. Ltd. “Coming at a time when the sector is at the crossroads, Mirae Asset BSE Information Technology Index Fund aims to gives an opportunity to investors to ride the upcoming leg of potential growth in the industry, led by strides in AI-related services,” The BSE Information Technology Index draws from the BSE AllCap universe and captures opportunities across 78 companies, offering a more diversified portfolio than Nifty IT Index across software & consulting, IT-enabled services, software products, computer hardware & equipment segments. The index also offers a more balanced market-cap mix, with large-caps at approximately 72% of weight and mid- and small-caps together comprising the remaining 28% compared to the Nifty IT Index's roughly 80:20 split skewed toward large-caps. This allows investors to participate in both established IT leaders and emerging, faster-growing technology companies. The minimum investment amount in the index fund is Rs. 5000/- and in multiples of Re. 1/- thereafter. It will be managed by Mr. Ritesh Patel & Mr. Akshay Udeshi.
