Kotak Mutual Fund Launches Kotak Nifty Capital Markets Index Fund
Kotak Mahindra Asset Management Company Ltd. has launched the Kotak Nifty Capital Markets Index Fund, an open-ended scheme replicating/tracking the Nifty Capital Markets Index. The new fund offer (NFO) opened on September 15, 2026 and will close on September 29, 2026.
India's capital markets ecosystem has expanded significantly over the years, supported by rising household savings, increasing participation in financial assets, growing mutual fund adoption, expanding demat accounts and deeper penetration of investment products. This growth has created opportunities across various segments of the ecosystem, including asset management companies, exchanges, brokers, depositories, wealth managers and other capital market intermediaries
Nilesh Shah, Managing Director, Kotak Mahindra Asset Management Company, said “India’s financialisation journey is creating opportunities across the capital markets ecosystem. As household savings increasingly move towards financial assets, businesses such as exchanges, asset managers, depositories, brokers, wealth managers and other intermediaries may benefit from the expanding participation in capital markets. The Kotak Nifty Capital Markets Index Fund offers investors a passive way to participate in this broader theme through a single fund.”
Satish Dondapati, Fund Manager at Kotak Mahindra Asset Management Company, added "Investors often participate in the growth of capital markets through individual businesses such as exchanges, brokers or asset managers. The Nifty Capital Markets Index brings these segments together in a single portfolio, offering diversified exposure to the broader ecosystem through a passive investment approach."
