• Indian exporters see strong festive season orders for textiles and food products to US and Europe: Indian exporters anticipate a stronger festive season with significant order increases. Textile orders from the US for holidays have jumped considerably this year. Food exports to Europe and the GCC region are also experiencing robust demand. However, exporters face challenges from high freight costs and container shortages. Trade policies and import compliance requirements also present ongoing concerns for businesses.

• Dollar hits seven-week high as hawkish Fed outlook boosts rate-hike expectations: The U.S. dollar held near a seven-week high at 100.33 as the Federal Reserve’s hawkish outlook, including guidance for another rate hike in 2026, lifted Treasury yields and strengthened expectations for tighter monetary policy. The dollar’s gains pushed the euro near a seven-week low at $1.1456, while the yen weakened to around 156.20 per dollar ahead of the Bank of Japan’s policy decision, where markets expect a rate hike to a 31-year high and will closely watch Governor Kazuo Ueda’s guidance on further tightening. Meanwhile, sterling remained broadly stable ahead of the Bank of England’s decision.
