Stocks in News

* TAXMACO RAIL & ENGINEERING : The company receives Rs 27.82 crore order from Hindalco Industries to supply one BTAP rake and one brake van for the Aditya Expansion Project. Order to be executed within eight months from the purchase order date.

* KSH INTERNATIONAL: Gets consent to operate from Maharashtra authorities for Supa manufacturing facility, valid till August 2027. To manufacture magnet winding wires at the Supa unit. Total approved capacity at the unit is 28,800 MTPA.

* RBI announces 26-day VRRR auction to absorb Rs 5 lakh crore surplus liquidity: The Reserve Bank of India plans a significant 26-day auction this Friday, targeting the withdrawal of Rs 5 lakh crore from the inter-bank market. This extended operation aims to manage persistent liquidity by giving participants the chance to reclaim lent amounts. This proactive measure is a direct response to the surplus liquidity caused by foreign investments.

* Oil surges above $100/bbl as escalating Middle East attacks fuel fears of prolonged supply disruptions: Oil prices surged nearly 13% this week, with Brent and WTI trading above $100/bbl for the first time since mid-May, as escalating attacks on shipping and energy infrastructure across the Middle East, including disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz and Red Sea, raised concerns over prolonged supply disruptions. Brent rose 1% to $108.68/bbl and WTI to $103.45/bbl, while further U.S.-Iran tensions and attacks on Saudi energy facilities increased geopolitical risks. The rally could extend if China sustains strong crude purchases, although OPEC has lowered its 2026 global oil demand growth forecast for the fifth consecutive time, while its August output fell by 640,000 bpd.

Government Security Market:

* The Inter-bank call money rate traded in the range of 4.40%- 5.10% on Thursday ended at 4.60%.

* The 10 year benchmark (6.94% GS 2036) closed at 6.9762% on Thursday Vs 6.9568% on Wednesday .

Global Debt Market:

US Treasury yields moved higher on Thursday as traders await the release of U.S. wholesale inflation data later due later in the session. The 10-year U.S. Treasury note yield the key benchmark for mortgage borrowing, auto loans and credit card debt was up more than 2 basis points at 4.8589%. The 2-year Treasury note yield, which is typically more sensitive to short-term Federal Reserve interest rate decisions, increased 1 basis point to 4.4404%. The longer-dated 30-year Treasury bond yield, which moves in line with broader geopolitical risks, was up more than 2 basis points at 5.3092%. U.S. yields increased on Wednesday, after Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said the department will buy back $6 billion of longer-dated government bonds. With the 10-year note yield touching its highest level since November 2023, investors are now looking ahead to key wholesale and consumer price data, due today and Friday, respectively, for clearer insights into the U.S. inflation picture and next week’s Federal Reserve interest rates decision. The PPI print — a measure of wholesale goods and services is expected to show a 5.4% year-over-year increase during August, according to FactSet consensus estimates. That follows a 4.7% increase in last month’s report. August’s consumer price index is due out tomorrow. Elsewhere, renewed hostilities between the U.S. and Iran continued to push energy prices higher, fueling inflation concerns. West Texas Intermediate futures were last seen more than 1.3% higher at $97.37 per barrel early Thursday. President Donald Trump said that energy prices would come “tumbling downward” after the midterm elections, adding that the war in the Middle East would conclude “immediately after the election.

The 10 year Benchmark (6.94% GS 2036) yield likely to move in the range of 6.9650% to 6.9825% level on Friday
