J&K’s GDP to touch Rs 2.63 lakh crore in 2024-25: LG Manoj Sinha
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on August 12 said that Jammu and Kashmir’s GDP is expected to touch Rs 2.63 lakh crore in 2024-25.
“Initiatives coupled with the judicious welfare measures and infrastructure development helped GDP of J&K double from 2015-16 to 2023-24. Our GDP in 2015-16 was Rs 1.17 lakh crore and now it is Rs 2.45 lakh crore in 2023-24. We are expecting our GDP to touch Rs 2.63 lakh crore in 2024-25. I believe that the doubling of the economy is a huge achievement…Despite various challenges, we succeeded in doubling the economy. J&K Bank is a living example in this. J&K bank was in a loss of Rs. 1139 Cr in the year 2019 now the bank has reported a profit of Rs. 1700 Cr in the year 2023-24… The complete turnout of the J&K economy happened due to the professionalism, efficiency and transparency of J&K Bank,” said Manoj Sinha.
