The Roads & Buildings (R&B) Department has initiated an ambitious project to transform Manasbal Lake in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district into a premier eco-tourism destination. The centerpiece of this initiative is a scenic 1.8-kilometer pathway encircling the lake, designed to showcase its breathtaking beauty, surrounding landscapes, and vibrant local culture while safeguarding its environmental integrity.
Built using eco-friendly materials and sustainable construction methods, the pathway will include designated walking trails, observation points, and rest areas strategically placed to offer panoramic views of the lake and its serene surroundings. The project aims to balance tourism development with environmental preservation, ensuring minimal impact on the ecosystem.
In addition to enhancing the visitor experience, the project is expected to stimulate the local economy by attracting tourists and supporting businesses in hospitality and agriculture.
