J&K Cong Chief calls EC`s move to shift poll counting dates for J&K, Haryana assemblies `suspicious`
As the Election Commission has shifted the vote counting date for the J&K and Haryana Assembly elections from October 4 to October 8, 2024, citing the Bishnoi community festival in Haryana; J&K Congress President Tariq Hameed Karra has raised concerns over this move of Election Commission questioning why the festival wasn’t considered earlier. He further called the move ‘suspicious’.
Speaking to ANI, J&K Congress President Tariq Hameed Karra said, “...Did the Election Commission not know at that time that there was a festival? They announce the final date after considering everything. They are making the elections suspicious...This is a doubtful thing…”
