Indian banks' loans rose 9.9% y/y in two weeks to May 2 - central bank

Indian banks' loans rose 9.9% in the two weeks to May 2 from a year earlier, while deposits rose 10%, the Reserve Bank of India's weekly statistical supplement showed on Friday.

Outstanding loans rose 984.45 billion rupees ($11.51 billion) to 182.86 trillion rupees in the two weeks to May 2.

Non-food credit rose 681.24 billion rupees to 182.24 trillion rupees, while food credit rose 303.21 billion rupees to 624.46 billion rupees.

Bank deposits rose 1.73 trillion rupees to 230.33 trillion rupees in the two weeks to May 2.
