Gujarat: Sant Sarovar Dam Gates opened to restrict overflow of Sabarmati river after heavy rainfall

Amidst continuous heavy rainfall in Gujarat water levels in dams have reached their capacity, causing rivers to swell. The Sant Sarovar Dam in Gandhinagar has seen a significant influx of water due to torrential rains in the upper catchment areas. Consequently, five gates of the dam, which spans the Sabarmati River, have been opened to manage the overflow. Authorities have issued an alert to the surrounding low-lying villages, advising residents to stay vigilant and take necessary precautions.
