Ducati has introduced the fifth-generation Monster in India with a major mechanical and design overhaul. The 2026 Ducati Monster V2 brings a new 890cc V2 engine, a lighter chassis, revised riding ergonomics and a more advanced electronics package. The motorcycle is available in standard Monster and Monster+ versions, with prices starting at ?13.99 lakh (ex-showroom) in India.

The standard Ducati Monster starts at ?13.99 lakh for the Ducati Red version. Iceberg White and Sport Livery versions are priced higher. The Monster+ variant adds a headlight cowl and passenger seat cover.

Design and Styling
The new Monster V2 retains the compact naked-bike character that has defined the nameplate while introducing a more muscular visual identity. Ducati has brought back a fuller-looking fuel tank inspired by earlier Monster generations, while maintaining a slim overall silhouette.
At the front, the motorcycle features a full-LED headlamp with distinctive DRLs and dynamic turn indicators. The exposed V2 engine and compact tail section reinforce its sporty naked-bike appearance.
The new design also incorporates Ducati's signature three-arch flyline. According to Ducati, the new motorcycle combines traditional Monster design cues with contemporary styling and technology.
New 890cc V2 Engine
The biggest change is the new 890cc, 90-degree V2 engine with Intake Variable Timing. It produces 111 hp at 9,000 rpm and 91.1 Nm of peak torque at 7,250 rpm.
Ducati has focused on making the engine more flexible across different riding conditions. The company says the broad torque delivery is designed to provide smooth response at lower speeds while retaining strong performance higher in the rev range.
The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox and Ducati Quick Shift 2.0, allowing both upshifts and downshifts without conventional clutch operation during appropriate riding conditions.
Lighter Construction
Weight reduction is another important highlight of the 2026 Monster V2. Ducati lists the motorcycle at 175kg without fuel, making it 4kg lighter than the previous generation.
The new V2 engine works as a load-bearing part of the chassis, while the motorcycle uses an aluminium monocoque frame. This construction contributes to the Monster's compact dimensions and is intended to improve agility and handling.
Suspension and Braking
The Ducati Monster V2 gets a 43mm Showa upside-down front fork and a Showa rear monoshock with preload adjustment.
Braking hardware includes twin 320mm front discs with Brembo M4.32 radial calipers. The motorcycle rides on Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres, with 120/70 front and 180/55 rear tyre sizes.

The 2026 Monster V2 gets a new 5-inch full-colour TFT instrument cluster with an 800x400-pixel resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio.
The updated interface is operated using a new petal-shaped joystick and provides information designed for both everyday riding and performance-focused use.
Rider-Friendly Ergonomics
Ducati has also revised the riding position. The seat height is 815mm, while a lower-seat accessory can reduce the height further.
The reshaped seat and updated handlebar position are intended to improve rider control while keeping the motorcycle manageable for everyday use. The lighter overall construction should also help during low-speed manoeuvring and urban riding.
Maintenance Interval
Despite its performance-oriented character, the new V2 engine has been designed with longer service intervals. Ducati specifies a valve-clearance inspection at 45,000km, while the oil-change interval is 15,000km or two years, according to the company's specifications.
