Gujarat`s SSIP 2.0 transforms Ahmedabad polytechnic into innovation powerhouse
With strong backing from the Government of Gujarat under the Student Startup and Innovation Policy (SSIP) 2.0, Government Polytechnic Ahmedabad is emerging as a key innovation hub. A ?22 lakh grant has helped students turn ideas into Proof of Concept projects, with 73% invested in prototype development and additional support for patent filing and innovation activities. Under expert mentorship, students have developed advanced solutions in drones, AI, robotics, sustainability, and industrial safety — including a Hybrid VTOL Drone, indigenous UAV systems, AI-based EEG applications for ADHD students, fire-fighting robots, tunnel safety communication systems, Smart Pots, and Sparrow Nests.
