Gravita India jumps after its arm starts commercial production of recycled polypropylene granules at Tanzania plant
Gravita India is currently trading at Rs. 1083.95, up by 20.25 points or 1.90% from its previous closing of Rs. 1063.70 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs. 1062.95 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1094.50 and Rs. 1054.90 respectively. So far 7265 shares were traded on the counter.
The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1167.05 on 13-Nov-2023 and a 52 week low of Rs. 381.30 on 07-Dec-2022.
Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1139.60 and Rs. 1051.30 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 7427.44 crore.
The promoters holding in the company stood at 66.48%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 10.41% and 23.11% respectively.
Gravita India’s step down subsidiary situated in Tanzania, East Africa has started commercial production of Recycled Polypropylene Granules from its new plastic recycling plant having an annual capacity of around 1,800 MTPA. The company is already having similar plastic recycling facility in Ghana, Senegal, Mozambique and India. Further, this is in line with the company's vision of replicating the recycling business in different geographies.
The Group has made investment of around Rs 2.25 crore for procurement and commissioning of the said Recycling Plant which is invested from internal accruals of the company. The company will be procuring domestic plastic scrap for the purpose of production from this plant and it will cater to the needs of plastic manufacturing industries situated in Europe & Asia. This plant will help company to change its sales mix by increasing the contribution from plastic business.
