The Union Cabinet has approved the SARTHAK-PDS scheme with an outlay of ?25,530 crore to modernise India’s Public Distribution System. The initiative aims to strengthen food grain delivery, improve transparency, and integrate AI-powered technologies for beneficiary management and grievance redressal. The scheme will benefit nearly 80 crore citizens under the National Food Security system. It is designed to upgrade logistics, reduce leakages, and make ration distribution more efficient and tech-driven across India.
