DSP Mutual Fund Unveils “The Immortals” — A Documentary Celebrating Wisdom That Lasts a Lifetime

DSP Mutual Fund today announced the release of its original documentary film, The Immortals — a heartfelt exploration of values, wisdom, and the changing times, where the world’s attention is increasingly pulled toward the “right now” instead of the long view.

At first glance, a 45-minute documentary may seem unusual for a financial services firm. But The Immortals is not a film about markets, performance, or investing. It is about something far more enduring - people who shape us, the relationships that give life meaning, and the truth that a good life is not built by chasing wealth, but by staying close to what matters. And perhaps, that is what we must truly live, and invest for.

Rooted in DSP’s philosophy of Invest for Good and inspired by its culture of community and lifelong learning, the film brings together nine extraordinary elders - men and women who have lived long, imperfect, beautiful lives. Through intimate conversations with a young poet, they share memories, mistakes, joys, regrets, and the kind of perspective that comes only from time and true human endurance. Their stories remind us that wisdom doesn’t come from perfection, but from living fully and learning honestly, and that is what makes them “The Immortals.”

The Immortals speaks across generations. For younger audiences, it invites a pause- a moment to listen, reflect, and rediscover what truly matters: health, family, friendships, kindness, courage, and the quiet pride of leaving the world a little better than you found it.

Through this documentary, DSP hopes to refocus attention on “the why behind investing” — in how we invest time, attention, and love. Much like the elders in the film, DSP believes the most meaningful returns come from the values we cultivate and the relationships we nurture over a lifetime.

“The Immortals is perhaps the most un-marketing thing we’ve ever created, and maybe that’s why it exists. We weren’t trying to game viewership models in a world of aggressive social media gimmicks chasing instant gratification. We weren’t trying to sell anything. We simply wanted to listen to people who’ve lived long enough to see what truly lasts.

These nine elders don’t offer gyaan. They offer their truths - gentle, earned, imperfect, human truths. They remind us that the most important investments aren’t financial; they’re the quiet, everyday ones we make in our families, our friendships, our health, and our values.

For us at DSP, this film is like a reset. A reminder that ‘Invest for Good’ isn’t a slogan - it’s a way of looking at life. If even one person walks away feeling a little lighter, a little grounded, or a little kinder, then the film has already done its job.

I hope that instead of pressing skip after five minutes, this film holds the attention of anyone who cares about building better lives, just a little longer,” says Abhik Sanyal, Head of Marketing, DSP Mutual Fund.

The Immortals is now available for viewing here. DSP invites investors, the mutual fund distribution community, advisors across India, and the country at large - to experience the film, reflect on its lessons, and share it forward.
