Daily Derivative Report - 26th August 2026 by Religare Broking Ltd
Market Outlook
The Indian market traded with volatility on the monthly expiry day, extending its cautious undertone amid the ongoing geopolitical uncertainties. With a muted start, the Nifty50 traded with a negative bias for most of the session and retested the rising trandline support. However, the index witnessed a recovery in the final hour, erasing the day’s losses and settling with gains of nearly half a percent. From the derivatives perspective, the next weekly expiry of the September series witnessed fresh Put writing at the 24,200 and 24,100 strikes, providing an immediate downside cushion. Meanwhile, major Call writing remained aligned with the 24,400-24,500 strikes, which may act as an immediate resistance zone and cap the upside.
