Coal India rises on reporting 8.4% rise in coal production during July

Coal India is currently trading at Rs. 416.20, up by 1.75 points or 0.42% from its previous closing of Rs. 414.45 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 415.95 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 417.60 and Rs. 413.35 respectively. So far 87280 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 490.90 on 30-Apr-2026 and a 52 week low of Rs. 368.55 on 28-Aug-2025.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 418.25 and Rs. 406.30 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 256492.75 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 61.13%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 32.67% and 6.20% respectively.

Coal India has reported rise of 8.4% in coal production to 50.4 million tonnes (MT) (Provisional) during July 2026 as compared to 46.4 MT (Provisional) in July 2025. It produced 220.0 MT (Provisional) of coal during April-July period of 2026, down 4.3% from 229.8 MT (Provisional) during the same period previous year.

In July 2026, coal offtake increased by 17.4% to 63.7 MT (Provisional) from 54.2 MT (Provisional) in July 2025. The total offtake of coal during the April-July period of 2026 grew to 261.9 MT (Provisional), up 6.8% from 245.2 MT (Provisional) in the corresponding period last fiscal.
