Chinar book festival attracts thousands of reading lovers in Kashmir
The Mega Chinar book festival attracted thousands of reading lovers in Kashmir. The 9-day festival from August 17 to August 25, is being held at the back lawns of Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Center (SKICC). National book trust of India (NBTI) organises this ‘one of its kind’ festival in collaboration with the District administration. On the banks of Dal Lake, a wide range of books await ambitious readers. The book festival is aimed to attract the youths back to books in this digital age of technology. The festival received a huge response from all sections: from youngsters and teachers to women. J&K has been the valley of Sufis and saints and a number of legendary writers, authors, critics, educationists and poets.
