BJP leaders gear up for J&K assembly election

As the Election Commission of India announced the Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party held a party meeting in Jammu on August 18.  BJP bigwigs in J&K made their presence in the meeting.  
BJP leader Kavinder Gupta said, "...The election process has started... The process of selection for all the phases will also go on in the coming days... The central leadership is here and various topics will be discussed. Since it is an election committee meeting, they will meet everyone... We are in election mode, we hope that the elections conclude properly and the BJP emerges as the biggest party...". BJP leader Abdul Gani Kohli said "There’s no doubt that our BJP is always ready for elections, but when the Election Commission suddenly announced the election, the party had to take immediate steps because the candidates also need to be decided. For this, the election committee that was formed, and the concerned leaders of the party, are coming from Delhi immediately. The next 2 to 4 days will be very hectic because of the way the election has been suddenly announced, so all the leaders need to come from Delhi to cope with this situation."Gulam Ali Khatana said, “"... An election committee has been formed in J&K by the BJP... Despite everything, elections are going to be held in J&K and hopefully, people will give us a chance…”
