Bharti Airtel surges on prepaying Rs 8,325 crore to Department of Telecom

Bharti Airtel is currently trading at Rs. 1169.60, up by 10.40 points or 0.90% from its previous closing of Rs. 1159.20 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1144.60 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1174.15 and Rs. 1142.25 respectively. So far 62969 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1174.15 on 24-Jan-2024 and a 52 week low of Rs. 736.20 on 02-Mar-2023.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1174.15 and Rs. 1074.95 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 702630.84 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 54.57%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 42.30% and 3.13% respectively.

Bharti Airtel has prepaid Rs 8,325 crore to the Department of Telecom (Government of India) towards part prepayment of the deferred liabilities pertaining to spectrum acquired in auction of year 2015 which were at an interest cost of 10%.
