Bharat Forge inches up on signing Rs 425 crore contract with Ministry of Defence

Bharat Forge is currently trading at Rs. 2046.70, up by 4.15 points or 0.20% from its previous closing of Rs. 2042.55 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 2048.35 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 2063.40 and Rs. 2042.60 respectively. So far 23778 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 2,063.40 on 22-Jun-2026 and a 52 week low of Rs. 1100.50 on 29-Aug-2025.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 2,063.40 and Rs. 1956.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 97819.32 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 44.07%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 46.91% and 9.01% respectively.

Bharat Forge has signed a Rs 425 crore contract with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), India, for the supply of Gas Turbine Generators (GTGs) to Indian Navy (IN) for onboard power generation on Kolkata class ships. The contract will be executed over a period of 5 years.

Rated at 1.25 MW, the new GTGs will replace the lower capacity units currently in service onboard. Awarded under the Buy (Indian) category of the Defence Acquisition Procedure 2020 (DAP-2020), the contract marks the company's entry into the marine gas turbine (GT) business - and will deliver the first indigenous GT-based power plant to operate aboard Indian Naval ships.

A leader in India's defence industry, a proven manager of complex programmes and a trusted partner of the Indian armed forces, BFL will establish a dedicated Integration and Test facility for GTGs. BFL will also participate in design and development programs for larger power plants and propulsion GTs. These manufacturing capabilities will also serve the significant needs of Indian armed forces in general with local production and ensure complete sovereignty on maintenance and overhaul operations of GTs/ GTGs.
