Bharat Dynamics shines on bagging contract worth Rs 2,960 crore from Ministry of Defence

Bharat Dynamics is currently trading at Rs. 1244.50, up by 43.40 points or 3.61% from its previous closing of Rs. 1201.10 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1202.75 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1275.95 and Rs. 1195.00 respectively. So far 50830 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1794.70 on 05-Jul-2024 and a 52 week low of Rs. 776.08 on 14-Mar-2024.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1275.95 and Rs. 1091.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 45743.33 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 74.93%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 11.79% and 13.28% respectively.

Bharat Dynamics (BDL) has signed a contract with Ministry of Defence (MoD) for the supply of Medium-Range Surface-to-Air Missiles (MRSAM) for the Indian Navy at a cost of approximately Rs 2,960 crore. 

The MRSAM system is a standard fit, onboard multiple Indian Naval Ships and is planned to be fitted on the majority of the future platforms planned for acquisition. The contract marks a critical milestone in the ongoing efforts to bolster India’s defence capabilities and indigenise advanced military technology.

With the emphasis on ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’, the missiles would be supplied by BDL under ‘Buy (Indian)’ category with largely indigenous content. The contract would generate employment of approximately 3.5 lakh mandays in the defence industry, including various MSMEs.

Bharat Dynamics is one of the leading defence PSUs in India engaged in the manufacture of Surface to Air missiles (SAMs), Anti-Tank Guided Missiles (ATGMs), underwater weapons, launchers, countermeasures and test equipment.
