Bajaj Electricals Announces Board Leadership

Shekhar Bajaj to continue as Non-Executive Director and Chairman Emeritus; Sudarshan Sampathkumar appointed Non-Executive Chairman; Sanjay Sachdeva to remain as Managing Director

The Board of Directors of Bajaj Electricals Limited today approved an evolution in the Company’s Board leadership, reflecting its continued transition towards a professionally managed and Board-led governance model.

Mr. Shekhar Bajaj will transition out of his current role as Executive Chairman, effective 31 Dec 2026. Effective Jan 1, 2027 (subject to shareholder approval) he will transition to becoming a Non-Executive Director on the Board. In recognition of his contribution to Bajaj Electricals over more than four decades, he will also carry the honorary title of Chairman Emeritus from Jan 1, 2027.

Mr. Sudarshan Sampathkumar, currently an Independent Director of the Company, has been appointed Non-Executive Chairman of the Board, effective 1 Jan 2027, subject to shareholder approval.

Mr. Shekhar Bajaj has been at the helm of Bajaj Electricals for over 40 years and has played a central role in building the Company into one of India’s most trusted consumer brands. During his tenure, the Company navigated multiple phases of growth, transformation and portfolio evolution while preserving its institutional values and long-term stakeholder relationships.

The transition reflects the increasing professionalisation of Bajaj Electricals. The Company continues to be led by Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Mr. Sanjay Sachdeva, supported by an experienced leadership team with clear accountability for strategy development, business execution, organisational leadership and performance delivery.

The new governance model will provide clear separation between executive management and Board leadership. The Managing Director will lead and run the Company, while the Non-Executive Chairman will lead the Board and enable it to discharge its collective responsibilities for governance, performance oversight, succession and risk.

Mr. Shekhar Bajaj said:

“It has been a privilege to lead Bajaj Electricals for over four decades. I am proud of the institution we have built with the support of our employees, Board members, partners, shareholders and many others who have contributed to its journey. The Company today has a capable Managing Director, a strong leadership team and a clear foundation for the future. I believe this is the right time to evolve our governance model and allow the Board to play an even stronger collective role. I remain deeply committed to Bajaj Electricals as a shareholder and Board member and look forward to supporting its continued progress.”

Mr. Sudarshan Sampathkumar said:

“I am grateful to the Board for the confidence placed in me. The Chairman’s role will be to enable the Board to operate at its best by harnessing the experience and diverse perspectives of all directors, encouraging constructive dialogue and ensuring that all shareholder interests are full represented in the board’s conduct. I look forward to working closely with the Board and management as Bajaj Electricals enters its next phase.”

Mr. Sanjay Sachdeva, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, said:

“Mr. Shekhar Bajaj’s contribution to the Company and its institutional legacy is invaluable. The new structure clearly defines clarity of roles while preserving continuity and long-term stewardship. The management team remains fully accountable for developing and executing the Company’s strategy and delivering sustainable performance, supported by the collective guidance and oversight of the Board.”

The Bajaj family remains committed to the Company as its long-term promoter and shareholder. Mr. Shekhar Bajaj, Ms. Pooja Bajaj and Mr. Nirav Bajaj will continue to serve on the Board.
