Axis Bank jumps despite reporting 25% fall in Q2 consolidated net profit

Axis Bank is currently trading at Rs. 1193.20, up by 24.20 points or 2.07% from its previous closing of Rs. 1169.00 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs. 1211.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1217.65 and Rs. 1185.50 respectively. So far 259020 shares were traded on the counter.
The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1247.00 on 27-Jun-2025 and a 52 week low of Rs. 934.00 on 27-Jan-2025.
Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1217.65 and Rs. 1164.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 370432.81 crore.
The promoters holding in the company stood at 8.16%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 84.76% and 7.07% respectively.
Axis Bank has reported 26.42% fall in its net profit at Rs 5,089.64 crore for second quarter ended September 30, 2025 (Q2FY26) as compared to Rs 6,917.57 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, the total income of the bank increased marginally by 1.22% at Rs 37,594.81 crore for Q2FY26 as compared to Rs 37,141.71 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.
On consolidated basis, the bank has reported 25.31% fall in its net profit at Rs 5,527.85 crore for Q2FY26 as compared to Rs 7,401.26 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, the total income of the bank increased marginally by 1.44% at Rs 39,769.85 crore for Q2FY26 as compared to Rs 39,203.77 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.
