Angel One Emerges as India's Second-Largest Stockbroker, Moves Closer to 70 Lakh Active Clients

The brokerage added 2.43 lakh net active clients on NSE in October alone, and added 15 lakh new clients in Q2, crossing the 4-crore client mark last month

Angel One Limited (NSE: ANGELONE, BSE: 543235) has strengthened its position in India's stockbroking industry, securing the second-largest position in terms of active clients, according to the NSE’s latest Report 1C. With an active client base of 69.98 lakh, the brokerage now accounts for 14.97% of the 4.67 crore active clients across all brokers on the exchange.

The company added 2.43 lakh net active clients on NSE in October alone, underscoring the growing adoption of digital investment and trading platforms among India's retail investors. The achievement reflects Angel One's sustained focus on expanding investor participation and making capital market access more accessible through technology-led solutions.

The company's October 2026 business performance further reinforces this growth trajectory. Its overall client base reached 40.60 million, registering 17.4% year-on-year growth, while gross client additions touched a nine-month high of 0.66 million. Trading engagement also strengthened, with average daily orders increasing 19.6% month-on-month to 6.97 million.

The milestone is backed by strong financial performance in Q2 FY27 (July–September 2026). Consolidated revenue from operations rose 18.7% year-on-year to Rs 1,427 crore, while net profit grew 58.2% to Rs335 crore. EBDAT rose 52% to Rs 493 crore, with the EBDAT margin expanding to 45.1% from 34.5% a year earlier. Interest income, driven by the client funding book, contributed 35.6% of total revenues, reflecting a more diversified business.

During the quarter, Angel One acquired nearly 15 lakh new clients, up 11.6% from the previous quarter, taking its client base to 3.99 crore by September before it crossed 4 crore in October. Its wealth management business continued to scale, with assets under management rising 19.1% quarter-on-quarter and 160.5% year-on-year to Rs 16,000 crore.

Securing the second position in the industry, alongside its growing business scale and improving profitability, marks an important milestone in Angel One's journey. The company continues to contribute to the deepening of India's capital markets by encouraging wider retail participation, enhancing digital accessibility and facilitating greater engagement across multiple market segments.
