Android Auto is getting one of its biggest updates ever from Google. The new version will make car screens smarter, faster, and more useful for drivers and passengers. The update includes Gemini AI, YouTube support, better maps, and a fresh new design.

The biggest feature is Google Gemini AI. Drivers can now talk naturally to the assistant instead of using simple voice commands. Gemini can reply to messages, find places, give suggestions, and even explain vehicle alerts while driving.

Google is also adding YouTube support to Android Auto. Users will be able to watch videos on the car’s infotainment screen while the car is parked or charging. For safety reasons, videos will stop automatically when the car starts moving.

The Maps experience is also getting better with new 3D navigation. Drivers will see clearer roads, buildings, traffic updates, and lane guidance. The new maps are designed to work smoothly on larger and curved car displays.

Android Auto’s design is being refreshed with a cleaner and modern interface. The update brings bigger icons, smoother animations, customizable widgets, and easier controls for music, navigation, and smart devices.

Entertainment features are also improving. Android Auto will support better music quality, HD video playback, and upgraded app experiences for platforms like Spotify and YouTube Music.

Google plans to roll out these features gradually during 2026. The update is expected to improve the driving experience by making cars more connected, intelligent, and user-friendly.
