Adani Power surges on receiving LoA for new 800 MW Ultra-supercritical thermal power plant in MP

Adani Power is currently trading at Rs. 613.35, up by 12.60 points or 2.10% from its previous closing of Rs. 600.75 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 606.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 614.80 and Rs. 604.85 respectively. So far 149078 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 684.90 on 02-Sep-2024 and a 52 week low of Rs. 430.85 on 21-Nov-2024.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 614.80 and Rs. 583.35 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 234116.19 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 74.96%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 14.22% and 10.82% respectively.

Adani Power has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from MP Power Management Company (MPPMCL) for supply of power from a new 800 MW Ultra-supercritical thermal power plant to be developed in Anuppur district of Madhya Pradesh (MP). The project will help Madhya Pradesh to meet its ever-growing electricity demand owing to increased industrialization and urbanisation. 

The company will invest around Rs 10,500 crore towards setting up the plant and related infrastructure. The unit will be commissioned within 54 months of the appointed date. The coal linkage for the power plant has been allocated under the SHAKTI Policy of Government of India to state of Madhya Pradesh. The project is expected to generate direct and indirect employment of around 6,000 to 7,000 during the construction phase and employ around 1,000 personnel once in operation. 

The company expects to execute the Power Supply Agreement (PSA) in due course with the State Discom. This is the fourth major power supply order received by the company in the last 12 months.
