Abans Financial Services Ltd (Formerly Abans Holdings Ltd) has issued a public alert regarding a surge in fraudulent activities misusing the company’s name and identity of its employees to lure unsuspecting individuals into investment scams. The group has discovered multiple fake WhatsApp groups and even mobile applications falsely posing as Abans Securities and using names and photographs of real employees and industry experts to offer unauthorized stock market tips.

“These incidents go beyond typical cyber fraud. The use of cloned identities, deepfake-style video interactions, and brand impersonation is a direct attack on investor trust and the integrity of financial markets,” said Bhavik Thakkar, CEO of Abans Investment Managers Ltd. “The biggest worry for us is not market volatility, but the theft of digital identity and its potential damage.”

The company has brought these issues to the attention of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and filed complaints with the Cyber Crime Cell and relevant law enforcement agencies. To proactively address this threat, Abans Holdings has:

1. Issued pop-up alerts on its official website warning visitors about ongoing scams
2. Reported the matter to regulators and police authorities
3. Initiated outreach to other affected industry stakeholders

“We are deeply concerned that even well-educated and urban investors are falling prey to these schemes,” said Thakkar. “This is a wake-up call for regulators, telecom companies, and digital communication platforms to act swiftly before the problem escalates further.”

Abans urges the public to exercise caution:

1. Do not join unknown WhatsApp or Telegram groups offering stock tips
2. Do not engage with any mobile apps claiming to be from Abans without verification
3. Always check the official Abans website and contact the customer service helpline in case of doubt
