Vedanta inches up on procuring 2 billion units of renewable energy for aluminium smelter

Vedanta is currently trading at Rs. 341.85, up by 2.25 points or 0.66% from its previous closing of Rs. 339.60 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 340.70 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 343.15 and Rs. 338.90 respectively. So far 57479 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 385.75 on 19-Oct-2021 and a 52 week low of Rs. 160.20 on 28-Jan-2021.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 344.00 and Rs. 329.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 126756.32 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 65.18%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 20.62% and 9.88% respectively.

Vedanta has procured about 2 billion units of renewable energy through power exchanges for its aluminium smelter located in Jharsuguda, Odisha, thereby reducing GHG emissions intensity at the smelter by more than 1540 KtCO2e (kilo tonne of CO2 equivalent) in the year 2021. Vedanta Aluminium's Jharsuguda unit is the country's largest renewable energy buyer on Green Term Ahead Market (G-TAM) platform at IEX.
