Vedanta declines as Societe Generale offloads 2.24 crore shares
Vedanta is currently trading at Rs. 386.60, down by 9.25 points or 2.34% from its previous closing of Rs. 395.85 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs. 393.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 398.60 and Rs. 384.45 respectively. So far 449304 shares were traded on the counter.
The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 400.95 on 03-Mar-2022 and a 52 week low of Rs. 209.80 on 12-Apr-2021.
Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 400.95 and Rs. 357.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 143595.40 crore.
The promoters holding in the company stood at 69.69%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 19.51% and 9.36% respectively.
Societe Generale has offloaded 2.24 crore shares of Vedanta through an open market transaction. According to bulk deal data at National Stock Exchange (NSE), Societe Generale sold total 2,2,450,200 shares, amounting to 0.6 per cent stake of the company. The shares were divested at Rs 391.74 apiece, valuing the transaction at Rs 879.64 crore.
Vedanta is a diversified natural resources company, whose business primarily involves producing oil and gas, zinc- lead-silver, copper, iron ore, aluminium and commercial power.
