Telangana CM congratulates Team India on historic Brisbane win

 Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Tuesday congratulated the Indian cricket team for its fabulous victory in the fourth and final Test against Australia in Brisbane.

The Ajinkya Rahane-led side beat Australia by three wickets in the final Test at The Gabba, thereby winning the four-match Border-Gavaskar series 2-1. The Indian team, despite the absence of their regular captain Virat Kohli and other key players, created history by becoming the first team to beat Australia at The Gabba in over 32 years.

Rao hailed the Indian team for its wonderful performance with limited resources. Rao, in a statement, said this historic win would be remembered forever.

Telangana's Congress unit chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy also hailed Team India's victory in the series.

"What a brilliant series that was! What started on a shaky ground soon witnessed some of the terrific performances from batsmen & bowlers," Reddy tweeted.

"Pant, Vihari, Siraj, Pujara, Gill have been exceptional & Rahane's captaincy was top notch. Congratulations Team India!!" he added.

State industry and information technology minister K. T. Rama Rao also took to Twitter to congratulate the Indian team.

"What an extraordinary game & what a fabulous team!! You make us proud Team India. Truly epitomised the new India; grit, courage, never say die attitude & full of guts n glory Best test series win in a long time. Take a bow gentlemen you already made 2021 look good," said Rama Rao.

He had earlier hailed the performance of fast bowler Mohammed Siraj, who hails from Hyderabad.

"What an amazing performance by our own lad from Hyderabad #SirajMohammed and that too after suffering such a tragic personal loss. Your performance has given India the hope to go for a series win. I am sure your father must be a proud man blessing you from above."
