Tata Power inches up as its arm inks agreement with Vivarea Condominium to supply solar power

Tata Power Company is currently trading at Rs. 206.20, up by 0.35 points or 0.17% from its previous closing of Rs. 205.85 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 206.15 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 206.85 and Rs. 205.85 respectively. So far 42774 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 298.00 on 07-Apr-2022 and a 52 week low of Rs. 190.00 on 20-Jun-2022.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 209.75 and Rs. 204.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 65951.81 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 46.86%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 24.79% and 28.33% respectively.

Tata Power’s subsidiary -- Tata Power Renewable Energy (TPREL) has signed an agreement with Vivarea Condominium, a residential society in Mumbai, to supply solar power. A first of its kind, the 3.125 MW solar plant will be set up at Himayatnagar, Maharashtra to power the society with clean energy.

TPREL will undertake the construction, operation, and maintenance of this captive solar power plant, which is expected to generate about 7.5 MU of energy and offset 6.15 metric tonnes of CO2 in the first year itself. The project will be commissioned by October 2023 and will provide green power at approximately 40% less than the cost of existing tariff to Vivarea Condominium.

With the installation of this group captive solar plant, Tata Power will enable Vivarea Condominium to become the country’s first residential society to use captive solar energy for domestic usage. The project is aligned with the company’s continued commitment to providing energy security, energy equity, and energy sustainability to its consumers.
