Tata Power gains on inking MoU with Tamil Nadu Government
Tata Power is currently trading at Rs. 211.10, up by 4.10 points or 1.98% from its previous closing of Rs. 207.00 on the BSE.
The scrip opened at Rs. 207.35 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 211.40 and Rs. 207.35 respectively. So far 707057 shares were traded on the counter.
The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 298.00 on 07-Apr-2022 and a 52 week low of Rs. 118.40 on 28-Jul-2021.
Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 211.60 and Rs. 200.55 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 67453.62 crore.
The promoters holding in the company stood at 46.86%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 27.03% and 26.11% respectively.
Tata Power has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu Government to invest approximately Rs 3,000 crore for setting up a greenfield 4GW Solar Cell and 4GW Solar Module manufacturing plant in Tirunelveli District of Tamil Nadu.
The MoU outlines the commitment made by both parties to stimulate clean energy transition and employment in the state. The investment in the plant will be made over a period of 16 months and will directly or indirectly create over 2,000 employment opportunities with majority of them being women employees.
