* The BSE Sensex ended at 55,582.58 up by 145.29 points or 0.26% after trading in a range of 55,680.75 and 55,281.02. There were 15 stocks advancing and 15 stocks declining on the index.

* The broader indices ended in red; the BSE Mid cap index down by 0.18%, and Small cap index was down by 0.57%.

* The top gaining sectoral indices on the BSE were, Energy was up by 1.10%, Oil & Gas was up by 0.88%, and FMCG was up by 0.23%, while, Utilities was down by 0.45%, Realty was down by 0.38%, Telecom was down by 0.99%, and Capital Goods was down by 0.67%, were top lossing indices were on BSE.

* There were TATA Steel was up by 3.96%, Bajaj Finance was up by 3.64%, Mahindra & Mahindra was up by 2.64%, Bajaj Finserv was up by 1.33%, and Reliance was up by 1.29%, the top gainers were on the Sensex.

* There were Maruti was down by 2.43%, Bajaj Auto was down by 2.05%, Power Grid was down by 2.00%, UltraTech Cement was down by 1.55%, and SBIN was down by 1.51%, the top losers were on the Sensex.

* The CNX Nifty ended at 16,563.05 up by 33.95 points or 0.21% after trading in a range of 16,589.40 and 16,480.75. There were 21 stocks advancing and 29 stocks declining.
